DAY 1:  Arrive to Baltra Island - Highland of Santa Cruz Island - Check In Hotel (L).

After your morning flight from mainland Ecuador to Baltra Island, you will meet your Naturalist Guide and travel to Santa Cruz Island. 

On the way, we will have the first visit to El Chato Tortoises Reserve located 680 feet above sea level close to the town of Santa Rosa. This place provides important attractions due to its climate and vegetation where the famous “Galapagos” giant tortoises live in their natural habitat. We can watch the tortoises relaxing in a natural lagoon. Also, this is where many of the island’s wild birds nest, such as Darwin Finches, Vermilion Flycatcher, Yellow Warblers and others. During the visit to this reserve we´ll see a natural lava tunnel, which we can explore inside. Dinner on your own

DAY 2: Speedboat to Isabela Island, Kayak and snorkeling ( B,L)

After early breakfast we will go to the main pier to take speed boat or lancha rapida to Isabela Island, boat ride takes about 2 or 2:30 hours depending of ocean conditions. Once getting to the island, we are going to the local hotel for check in, a short visit in town, then lunch and we go to the kayak and snorkeling are. Dinner on your own.

Day 3: Visit to Los Tuneles , Beach Time (optional) (B,L)

In the morning, we are going to embark by speed boat with a local tour Guide to one of the most astonishing snorkeling locations in the Galapagos Islands. A series of lava flows have created hundreds of arches and tunnels, both above and below the water. The water is shallow, calm and very clear, as a sea sanctuary. Los Tuneles are a field of lava tunnels that have been exposed to and subsequently flooded by ocean movements. You can walk along the lava formations before snorkeling through this unique marine environment. In this place we can see some green sea turtles, white-tipped sharks, several rays, blue footed boobies and occasionally penguins.

When you get back home, you can spend time on the beach near to the town. Dinner on your own

Day 4:  Tintoreras Islet Tour, Biking to the WetLands (B,L)

After breakfast, we´ll board a small dingy with your guide and travel across the bay to Tintoreras Island. The island is called Tintoreras because it’s a resting place for white-tip reef sharks, Tintoreras in Spanish. On the way, we are going to look for some Galapagos penguins, which are the smallest species of penguins in the world and endemic to the Galapagos, frigates birds, great blue heron and some shore birds. A short hike allows you to observe one of the largest colonies of marine iguanas in Galapagos, white-tip sharks, sea lions, Sally Lightfoot crabs, and Blue-footed Boobies. Next, we´ll return to the water for some spectacular snorkeling with sea lions, rays, and many different species of tropical fish on the calm, sandy bottom area. 

After lunch, explore an area known as the Los Humedales, a series of coastal pools, lagoons, and endemic mangroves that boast an abundance of birds and native plants. You may choose to either walk or ride mountain bikes through this area. On the way we can look for herons, black-necked stilts, Galapagos pintails, and be careful for marine iguanas crossing the road. Also there is mangrove lined path will lead us to Isabela´s Tortoise Breeding Center where we´ll see big and babies tortoises in all stages of development. This center has almost a thousand giant tortoises training for life on their own.  Dinner on your own

DAY 5:  Speedboat to Santa Cruz, Fausto Llerena Giant Tortoises Breeding Center, Tortuga Bay Beach (B,L)

Early rise and departure by boat to Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island, breakfast and check in. In this morning we´ll walk to the Charles Darwin Research Foundation where you´ll learn about foundation successes in repopulating the islands with the once endangered land iguanas and several species of giant tortoises. Also you´ll visit the Lonesome George Hope Hall and Darwin Museum

After lunch , we´ll visit one of the most 10 beautiful beaches in the world, Tortuga Bay, which  is a beautiful white sand beach accessible only by walking or by boat. From the National Park Check Point where we begin, it will take about 45 minutes walking to get to the sand or first beach – playa brava-. This nice path through the dry Palo Santo and Giant Cactus forest you can usually see finches, mockingbirds, lizards along the way. One we get to the beach, you can keep walking to a calm lagoon during 15 minutes down the beach ,keep your eyes out for shore birds like Whimbrels, Ruddy Turnstones, Great Blue Herons ,endemic Lava Gulls and marine iguanas can be seen. There is not a lot of shade anywhere until get to the second beach or playa mansa. You can enjoy snorkeling, swimming, kayaking in this super calm natural lagoon. Dinner on your own

DAY 6: Visit to Los Gemelos and Transfer OUT to  Baltra Island Airport  (B)

After breakfast, before arrive to Baltra Island where the airport is,  you will visit Los Gemelos or The Twins, located at both sides of the main road of Puerto Ayora to Canal Itabaca. A further kind of morphological faults is represented by the classic Pit Craters, which are giant sink-holes that were never eruptive. These formed when smaller subterranean magma chambers or gas containing areas were emptied and the roofs collapsed. The area accumulations exposed of alternating aa and pahoehoe flows of around 64 to about 120 meters. The two collapses are separated by only a few meters.
